About ZipTool

ZipTool is a free online tool for opening and previewing archive files directly in your browser. Drop in a .zip and ZipTool shows you the full file tree, lets you preview code, images, audio, video and PDFs inside the archive, and even open a zip that is nested inside another zip — all without extracting anything to disk.

Everything happens in your browser

ZipTool's defining feature is privacy. The entire tool runs client-side: your files are parsed in your browser by zip.js and never uploaded to any server. There is no upload step, no storage, and no backend that ever sees your bytes. Once the page has loaded, you can turn off your network connection and ZipTool keeps working.

Supported formats

ZipTool supports the ZIP container and the many formats built on it, including .zip, .apk, .epub, .jar, .whl, .xpi and .war. Individual entries are previewed based on their file type.
